Pattaya Welcomes 6th International Conference on Family Planning

Pattaya, Thailand, November 18, 2022 / TRAVELINDEX / Thailand’s Deputy Minister of Public Health Presides at the Opening Press Conference of The 6th International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP2022) at PEACH, Pattaya City. Mr. Satit Pitutecha (3rd from left), Deputy Minister of Public Health, together with Mr. Jose Oying Rimon II (4th from left), Director of Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, staged a press conference prior to the official opening of the 6th International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP2022), the world’s largest scientific conference on family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights, at the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH), Royal Cliff Hotel, Pattaya recently. Also joining the press conference are Mr. Thawatchai Srithong (2nd from left), Governor of Chonburi, and Mr. Poramet Ngampichet (far left), Mayor of Pattaya.

The four-day ICFP2022 brought together more than 3,500 global policymakers, researchers, activists, and advocates from over 125 countries to Pattaya. The conference’s co-hosts are Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health; the Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists; Population and Community Development Association; and the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (USA). Several distinguished participants including Mr. Mechai Viravaidhya were conferred the Global Humanitarian Awards for Women’s and Children’s Health at the conference.

The conference comes at a critical crossroads in global public health, and provided a platform for leaders to define their FP2030 milestones and commitments against the backdrop of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
